The BWC participation was an Army “thank you” to our membership for the helmet liners and other support our organization has provided to our troops deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Cloudy skies and light rain slowly melted away as the Commandant’s boat pulled away from the pier leaving behind a beautiful day and a glass smooth river. Enlivening the voyage was West Point historian and retired USMA Chief Historian, Dr. Steven Grove who blended the history of the “Point” and the significance of the Hudson Valley into a memorable and enjoyable story of the river.
Young and old enjoyed a delightful lunch, cool beverages and good friendship along with a fly-over by Army helicopters and fascinating stories about the river and the many famous Academy graduates.
